  • “I would like to tell you a little bit of my time here at Mast Trucking. I’ve been here little over three and a half years and understanding that Mast is a trucking company and freight is the bottom line. With that being said Mast does a great job at trying to keep it running as family oriented as possible. It’s been a pleasure being known as a person and not a number. The equipment we have here is kept in very good condition due to the mechanics we have on hand. I’m a trainer here at Mast and I believe we have one of the top training programs that you can find we believe in training all driver to be safe and prosperous to where you can succeed in our industry.”

    – Patrick Newell: Mast Driver

“If you don't know what you want, nothing will make you happy. I want to have a life outside of my truck, be paid fairly for the time I am in the truck, and deal with efficient teammates who know their stuff - so I am at Mast.......and that makes me happy.”

    – Jed: Mast Driver since 2012

“Just the way you’re treated as a driver. I mean, I’ve been with big companies, I’ve been with small companies, I’ve worked for an owner operator. Just the way they treat you, how they treat their drivers pretty decently. This is the best place for me to retire from. That’s what I’ve found.
The equipment is real good. I’ve been blessed to have new trucks, after I got a little bit of time in. Seems when a new truck comes in they ask me if I want to switch. I like the new equipment. I like the automatic with my knees being the way they are, the automatic has really helped me out, it’s probably extended my career, because if I was still in a manual transmission truck I don’t think I’d be able to spend much more doing this.”

    – Don Wiles: 13 years at Mast Trucking, 37 years in the trucking industry

“I think it’s the people, the Mast family themselves. There’s been some companies where it’s all profit, profit, profit was all for the company. Here, Kevin turns around and puts it back into the people, back into the trucks, the pay raises, keeping the equipment up. You never have to worry about getting into a junk truck or something that’s not working properly. You know he just recently went and just redid the pay schedules for everyone which makes a huge difference. Most of the places that I’ve worked with were mostly mileage where if you’re not rolling you’re not making money. And then when you’re stuck somewhere you’re constantly complaining and it puts you in a bad mood. Here you don’t have to worry about that.
Kevin, to me, sincerely believes in his people who he has working for him, whereas at a lot of other companies you’re just a number.
They have a good group of people. From the dispatchers to the payroll, the other drivers, this is probably one of the only companies, like I said I’ve been here over seven years, and I’ve never had a dispute with anybody, whether it’s another driver, or somebody in the office. That’s what sets it apart from everybody else, it’s definitely the people.”

    – Bill Albright: 7 years at Mast Trucking, 20 years in the Trucking industry

“It’s a family. Other places, you’re just a number. We got numbers here, but we’re more family than a number. I get along with everybody and I’ve been treated more than fair. I knew that the first time that I came in here. Everybody said hi to me and I’m like, ‘You don’t even know me and you want to talk to me.”

    – Joe Sergi: 1 year at Mast Trucking, 38 years in Trucking industry

“It’s the way they treat you. If I need off or if something comes up, if there’s an emergency, they have no problem giving you the time off. I get to be close to my family now. I might not be home every day, but if something happens I can get home really quick.”

    – Tim Adkins: 4 years at Mast Trucking, 22 years in Trucking industry

“Everybody’s friendly, everybody knows your name when you come in. If you need anything everybody there is there to help you, let you know what to do. It’s like family oriented. Not like other places where some of them don’t know your name in the office, to where, here, everyone knows your name in the office.”

    – Todd Phillips: 6 months at Mast Trucking

“I’ve had one employer the last 19 years before here. I like this better. One thing I like is that it’s nice to be a name instead of a number. That a big thing there. It’s just a smaller, family owned company. I like it better than working for a larger company. Just being here is an improvement from what I had before.
The home time is important. They’ve had me home on time, every time since I’ve been here. And where I worked before it was either too early or too late. It’s always worked out since I’ve been here. Last year, right after I started, my dad passed away, and they gave some extra time to see my dad, do what I needed to do, and that meant a lot. They kept me local so I could finish what I was doing and go spend some time with him during the last week before he passed away. I wouldn’t have had that with my previous employer.”

    – Scott McDanel: 1 year at Mast Trucking, 20 years in Trucking industry

“ I started here on 5 on 5 off and I absolutely loved it. Gave me a lot more open time than when I was with my other employer. I was only getting a day-and-a-half at home with my family, and that’s hard. When I found out about the 5 on, 5 off, I nearly jumped over.
It’s a small company. You can come in a talk to dispatchers. You can see Kevin in here, the owner, and at bigger companies, you don’t get that. It’s more like a family rather than a job. You’re working with the family.
I’ve had a really good experience with the office, payroll, dispatch, and I couldn’t ask for a better setup.”

    – Jon McMasters: 1.5 years in Trucking industry

“Honesty. That’s the first thing. And how friendly the people are. You never hear a cuss word, which I’ve been ripped by companies in the past, you never hear that. They’re upfront with you. If you screw up, they’ll correct it and go on with it. Everybody’s been great, they’ve been friendly, it’s just been great.”

    – Paul Phillips: 4 years at Mast, 35 years in Trucking Industry

    “.......”

    – , Mast Driver since 2012

“The shop crew at Mast Trucking goes out of their way to help their employees any way they can.”

    – Dean, Mast Driver since 2006

“I’m still new here, but I wanted to thank everyone for helping make the transition very smooth. Everyone has been so pleasant and it is greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing what the future holds.”

    – Doug, Mast Driver since 2015

“The money’s excellent. Me being an old school trucker, it took me a while to get used to the electronic log books, but now that I’ve figured it out I’ve found that it works to my advantage and it makes my job a lot easier. The people are nice. Dispatch is cool. If they have a problem they work it out.”
